about Tom Riggs
I guess it's the artist in me, but I believe everyone should do what they love and I'm lucky enough to be doing just that. I'm a self-taught artist living in Fort Collins, Colorado. My wife and I travel every chance we get and my camera is always with me. I'm always on the lookout for my next painting, snapping pictures by the hundreds and then sorting and editing them when we get home. I like to work from photographs in my studio where I don't have to worry about ever-changing light, bugs, weather or any of the numerous things that are out of my control.
I love working in watercolor, but I've also worked in pastel, pen and ink, wood carving, acrylics, pencil and air brush. I've done murals in places like kids rooms, kitchens, living rooms and even laundry rooms.
I also love drawing cartoons and have had my designs appear on advertisements, buttons and on hundreds of t-shirts.
I'm also the official artist of the Colorado Marathon and have designed the logo and official finishers print every year of that wonderful event. Oh...I'm also a runner, in case you hadn't guessed, and much of my inspiration comes from the beautiful countryside I see during my daily runs.
